Sound Mapping

These works visually map the sound of footsteps moving through spaces. The lines are subtle but eye-catching, prompting viewers to actively consider and be present of their bodily interactions with the space. The lines installed directly on the building walls are a direct allusion to our movements in space - climbing stairs, for example - by using sound waves to create a visual version of the sounds we make when climbing stairs of the sounds we make when climbing stairs.

The work ‘Ascending/descending’ interacts with Blinky Palermo’s work ‘Blue/Yellow/White/Red’.
